Come and experience the turn of the year on horseback and in the wilderness of the Eastern Carpathians: Ride through enchanted winter forests, canter through the powdery snow and enjoy the spectacular mountain landscape. Nestled high up in the mountains, you will be accommodated in a cozy, oven-heated room within a former farmhouse and spend the cold winter evenings with conversations and good guitar music. Our bath barrel filled with warm saltwater, will invite you to relax and our hearty goulash as well as other delicacies will keep you warm, while you are exploring the mystical winter landscape. On New Year’s Eve, you’ll get to dance to traditional tunes on our party and enjoy a sleigh ride. You can also bring along accompanying non-riders.

Eight exciting days in a fairytale winter landscape.
1st day:
After your individual arrival in Gheorgheni, we will all meet at a cozy hotel in the city. Over a traditional dinner in a relaxed atmosphere, we’ll get to know each other and calmly discuss the details of tomorrow’s adventurous journey into the mountains.
2nd day:
After enjoying a hearty, regionally inspired breakfast, we will take you to our Hipparion Trail Riding Ranch in the Carpathians in our Land Rovers. The drive takes about 45 minutes. Upon arrival at the ranch, you’ll be greeted with coffee, tea, and a light snack.
Once you’ve settled into your rooms, we’ll discuss the riding tours and go over our safety guidelines.
Next, we’ll visit the horses on their winter pasture, and you can spend the afternoon and evening as you wish, relaxing in the sauna and hot tub.
In the evening, we’ll gather at the log cabin for a shared meal.
3rd day:
After a rich and typical Romanian breakfast, we’ll go and get the horses from the snow-covered meadow. Our first ride will lead us to Mount Magas Bükk (1380 m), from where we will have a wonderful view of the snow-capped mountains and valleys all around. On our way back to the ranch, we will be cantering through the fresh and deep snow. Once we’ve returned, you will get to warm yourself up with some tasty mulled wine and coffee. We’ll let the day end romantically in the log cabin, huddled close to the fire, listening to music and enjoying good conversations.

4th day:
After breakfast, we’ll be headed to Mount Csofronka. Once we’ve reached the snow-capped summit, we’ll enjoy the impressive view over the Hargita Mountains, the Murder Lake and the glaciers of the Kelemen Alps (2100). On our way back we’ll be galloping through some fresh powder. In the evening you can relax in the warm water of our bath barrel and enjoy the ravishing sunset with a glass of wine or beer.

5th day:
This riding day leads us into the valley, past idyllic farms and through numerous small mountain streams. Once we’ve successfully descended to the valley down below, a warming campfire with coffee, tea and mulled wine will be awaiting us on a small clearing in the forest.

6th day:
After you have enjoyed an extensive breakfast with local specialties we’ll take you on a sleigh ride and to the neighboring farmers. In the afternoon we’ll saddle our horses for the last time and go on a short ride into the magical snow-covered landscape. The evening invites you to sit at the fireplace, swim and relax.

7th day:
Today we saddle our horses one last time. We ride across snow-covered meadows and fields to a lookout point from where we can see the cities and villages below from a bird’s eye view. Back there is another steep, adventurous climb through the thicket until we reach a small path that leads us back to the home farm.

8th day:
The time has come to say goodbye. After a hearty breakfast, we will drive you to Gheorgheni, from where you will start your individual journey back home.

Packing:
Good and warm hiking/trekking boots, warm clothes, head lamp.
You will receive a detailed packing list after signing up.
Important notes:
-In special cases vegan, lactose free and gluten free meals can be provided. Please be aware that the meals will be simpler and the diversity reduced. Only possible with a declaration before arrival.
